Helmers Elementary PTA’s mission is to strengthen the natural bond and enhance the essential partnership between parents and teachers at Helmers Elementary School; to develop and nourish the academic and cultural character and integrity of the school; and to develop programs, events, activities and forums to deepen the dialogue between teachers and parents such that teachers receive the support they need, parents receive the feedback they seek, and students receive the enriched educational experience they deserve.
One of the biggest reasons Charles Helmers Elementary is so great, is because of the incredible involvement of our parent PTA. Joining the PTA gives you an opportunity to shape the school life of your child by being a part of a team that informs nearly every part of their school experience. You also have the chance to decide how PTA funds will be used to benefit our school and our children.
So, just what does the PTA do? Its almost more helpful to think about what things would look like without the programs that the PTA brings to our school. Each year, the PTA provides the support and funding for the following programs:
After School Enrichment- Classes ranging from robotics, to cooking, to performance arts.
Chords- Music Program
Fit Team- Physical fitness program
Garden- 12 week Project-based Garden curriculum
Reflections- Statewide Art competition
Orchestra Year Round
Art Programs In school art classes
Assemblies- Special performances and presentations
Circle of Friends- seeks to encourage friendships between students with, and without disabilities.
G.A.T.E support- Gifted and Talented program
Red Ribbon Week- Drug Awareness
Muffins for Moms
Donuts for Dads

It may look like a lot of work, but done together, they are small tasks that reap big rewards.
Please come join us in making this school year awesome for our kids!
